Embroidery formats and compatible machines
Every Embing design comes in one ZIP with PES, DST, JEF and EXP. Use the table to find which file your machine opens.
| PES | Brother, Babylock, some Bernette | Most common home machine format |
|---|---|---|
| JEF | Janome, Elna, Kenmore | Janome home line |
| DST | Tajima, Barudan, Happy, Ricoma, SWF and industrial machines | Industrial standard; read by most multi-needle machines |
| EXP | Melco, Bernina | Used by Bernina and Melco |
How to load a design via USB
- Download the ZIP and unzip it on your computer.
- Use a USB stick up to 32 GB formatted as FAT32.
- Copy only your machine's format to the root of the stick (not inside folders).
- Plug it in, select the design and test-stitch on scrap fabric with stabilizer.
FAQ
- My machine is not listed. What now?
- Most industrial machines read DST. If unsure, email support@embing.com with your machine model.
- Can I convert to another format?
- Yes, with software like Embrilliance or Wilcom, but the native format keeps stitch quality best.
- DST shows wrong colors?
- That is normal: DST stores no colors. Follow the color order on the product page.
